All Artists are self employed and responsible for their own clients and insurances.
In 2011,
Black Ink was started up solely by Hussam Osman in Hull’s vibrant city centre. At the point of opening the studio, Hussam considered himself as being a standard tattoo artist, but upon opening the shop, this gave him the inspiration to keep progressing his career, by putting in the hard work and effort to improve not only himself, but his own business. One of the reasons customers were drawn back to Black Ink, was the unique and personal customer service given to each and every person walking into the shop. Word of mouth spread quickly about how customers had been treated at the city centre studio, meaning more people grew a knowledge of Black Ink. In early 2016, Leeds United captain Liam Cooper contacted Hussam for a tattoo he wanted, which started the spark. Within the space of two months, Hussam ended up tattooing six of the Leeds United football team, ranging between their under 21’s team right through to the senior team.
With the power of social media, this created a big buzz for Black Ink, making various other sports stars recognise the work of Hussam. In the Summer of 2016, Black Ink and Hussam featured on Channel 5’s Tattoo Disasters UK which only created more publicity, leading to Hussam doing interviews with ITV. The local newspaper Hull Daily Mail, featured Black Ink Tattooist in a few articles regarding how successful the business has been by bringing sports starts to the city. To date, Hussam now tattoos sports stars from the likes of Hull City, Barnsley FC, Hull KR, Hull FC, Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers, Bradford Bulls, London Bronco’s, Featherstone Rovers and Leeds very own boxing champion Joshua Warrington.
